President to Recognize Alumni with Golden Sabre Award
By Communications and Marketing | November 10th, 2011 | Category: News | 1 Comment »
The chapters of the Norfolk State University Alumni Association( NSUAA) have a long history of financially supporting NSU. The University wishes to incentivize and honor outstanding fundraising efforts among NSUAA Chapters. In order to fully acknowledge the successful philanthropic efforts of our alumni chapters, NSU has developed the President’s Golden Sabre Award.
This award was designed to recognize the chapter that is most successful in its fundraising efforts in service to the University. NSU recognizes its more than 30,000 alumni as one of its most valued resources and encourages alumni participation in shaping the institution’s future. Since more than half of its alumni population resides outside of the Hampton Roads area, the Norfolk State University Alumni Association offers alumni and friends — through its chapters, the opportunity to share their affection and commitment to NSU with others. Currently, the NSUAA is comprised of 17 chapters that include graduates, former students and friends of NSU.
Award Program Criteria
At the end of each fiscal year, the President of Norfolk State University will present the President’s Golden Sabre Award to the NSUAA chapter that makes the largest financial contribution (throughout the fiscal year) to the University. Participating chapters must be financially recognized by the NSUAA. To be considered, chapters must submit all monies to the NSU Foundation on or before June 15. Please note: Pledges will not be considered.
